Lake Sidney Lanier is a 38,000-acre U.S. Corps of Engineers Lake with
60 recreational areas and 7 commercial marinas.
Lake Lanier Islands offers three 18-hole golf courses, a water park
and 2 luxury hotels.
Other area attractions include the North Georgia Mountains, Road
Atlanta (the home to the Atlanta Grand Prix and host of the largest
motor sports event in the world, the SCCA National Championship Race
as well as Petite LeMans) and the Lanier National Speedway.
The Elachee Nature Science Center is a woodland refuge and museum
adjacent to the Chicopee Woods Nature Preserve and Chicopee Woods
Agricultural Center. The Chicopee Woods features trails for the
jogging, hiking and biking enthusiasts.
